Wilmer verses Mavis: Zombie Hogs Don't Lie

Wilmer verses Mavis: Zombie Hogs Don't Lie

I have not one but two .45 handguns. The 45 is best described as "Given on a mountain top to John Moses Browning by the hand of God to smite thine enemies." After 100 years it is still the best.

Wilmer is a WWII vet, brought home by Wilmer Anderton and traded to my father for two field jackets. A better trade has never been made. After 69 years I can keep the shots on target when I do my part, but small sights and a difficult GI trigger make that hard.

Mavis is named after my daughter, well my nickname for her as a little girl, or it was until she told me she hated it. I was shopping with my wife at Smith and Edwards, a store with everything and then some. My wife was looking at mason jars and kitchen stuff with an eye toward my daughter's wedding. I was lusting after a Remington R1 45 and she said, "If you don't complain about what I spend on this wedding again, you can buy it."

I said "DONE!"

She was really surprised by my response. She thought I would back down. I know I have no influence what so ever on her spending for our only daughter's weddomg. I just sold the right to complain. Now was it worth it? Pictures don't lie and neither do Zombie Hogs.
1 inch if you toss out the nose shot

Now I have a shooter and an heirloom, and in an odd way ever time I want to remember the wedding, I can get out Mavis and reminisce. So worth it!

Naomi is at education week for today, I decided to improve the living room.
